SSE Enterprise is proud to have been nominated for two Utility Week Awards 2015: Customer Care and Marketing Initiative of the Year.
SSE Enterprise’s Customer Care nomination is for the introduction of a low user tariff at the Wyndford Estate in Glasgow. In 2011 a new heat system, which supplies heat and hot water from a gas-fired combined heat and power generator, pumps hot water to each household, was installed by SSE Enterprise Utilities. The new system removed the need for each property to have an electric storage heater and helped reduce carbon emissions. Whilst the majority of customers now enjoy annual energy bill savings compared to their old storage heaters, in some cases, very low users of heat found their bills had gone up with the new system. The new low user tariff addresses this imbalance and additional measures have also been introduced to analyse customer usage (gained from the AMR data) and proactively contact those customers that we know are low users and encourage them to transfer to the new tariff.
The Marketing Initiative nomination is for an integrated marketing campaign highlighting involvement of SSE Enterprise at iconic sites such as the Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The campaign drove awareness of what the business does among chief executives, increased web traffic and created new business leads. The awards ceremony will be held on 14 December 2015 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
