SSE Enterprise and the Telegraph have been helping businesses to manage their bottom line by taking control of their energy use.
Today, companies have a broad selection of tools and strategies that can help them to reduce their carbon footprint. There is also a growing awareness of the issues surrounding energy efficiency, but tackling these problems in a cost-effective manner can still prove to be tricky.
For the final event in our series of roundtable discussions, we gathered together four experts from the public sector: Alexandra Hammond, associate director for sustainability at Guys and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust; Elise Smithson, director of the centre for low impact buildings at Coventry University; Matthew Gordon, director of government relations for EMEA at Honeywell; and Brin Sheridan, managing director of Energy Solutions at SSE Enterprise.
Among other topics, the group discussed the potential and pitfalls of emerging technology, the strengths of working partnerships and the need for carrot-and-stick legislation.
