Changes to SSE’s Dial Before You Dig service

SSE Group businesses (wholesale, Networks and Enterprise) will be moving their Dial Before You Dig services and requests for mapping to a 3rd party provider during Summer 2019.

SSE Group operates a range of assets across the UK and has a responsibility to do this in a safe, efficient, reliable and sustainable way. The new web service is designed to be used by anyone that needs to know where our utility assets are (pipelines, telecoms and cables) to ensure work is undertaken safely.

For the purpose of data delivery, this change will also separate SSE Group entities into their individual businesses. As a result, data for Networks, Wholesale (Generation) and Enterprise (including Telecoms) will appear separately in the search results.

This service will require the user to register for free and they will then be able to submit enquiries 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


Further announcements will be made on this including details of the provider and date for transition as we move closer to the implementation of the new service.
